Biscay Bay

Sarah Bishop

Growing up in central Newfoundland, I learned the art of sewing, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, quilting, woodworking, and so on, so forth. I had many knowledgeable (and patient) family members who instilled values of creativity, quality, hard work, and persistence.

It was this passion of creating that led me to pursue the idea of a small business.

Inspired by nature’s colours and textures, Biscay Bay products have an understated sophistication that mimics the simple, content lifestyle I wish to lead. Each item is carefully hand crafted, and is one of a kind.

I am thrilled to join the other artisans at Quidi Vidi Village Plantation and continue to grow Biscay Bay.

Our Artisans

The Quidi Vidi Village Plantation is a craft incubation facility, designed to accelerate the growth of emerging artists and their businesses.

Each of the craftspeople who lease studios in the Plantation have passed through a rigorous selection process, and must participate in an extensive training regime.

We welcome the public to come and watch these craftspeople work, and to support them by purchasing some of their fine craft items.
